CARBON BLACK

Types & Applications

Carbon black is divided into two main soft and hard categories. This material is widely using at Tire, Rubber industries (like hoses, belts, gaskets), Wire, Cable and Pipe industries. The most common use (70%) of carbon black is as a pigment and reinforcing phase in automobile tires.

Rubber Industries: Hoses, belts, gaskets – carbon black is used to enhanced mechanical properties, anti-vibration and conductivity of rubber goods.

Tire Industries: Carbon black is used to improve the processing, strength and durability important to tire manufacturing and tire performance (most notably safety), increasing tire life and fuel economy.

Pipe industries: Carbon black serves to protect pipes from mechanical degradation caused by harmful UV radiation.
